Music is an international language. It crosses boundaries and borders of all kinds. Discriminating against artists based on their nationality is wrong. But that is what is happening in the United Kingdom and other countries that single out American music creators and refuse to pay them for their work. This unfair treatment denies American creators more than $330 million in royalty payments a year – money that would surely benefit artists struggling to make a living.
It’s time to end discrimination against American music creators overseas.
